I'm not a fan of super hot and spicy foods in general, so I was pleasantly surprised that Dosa & Chaat offered a mild option for some of its 'street' food. I enjoyed Aloo Papdi Chaat and Sev Batata Puri. The Samosas are great too. The portions were typical of street foods. I particularly liked how (picture) presentable it all was, especially since it was carryout. They all have a variety of spices but none of the mild orders were HOT and spicy. I will be back and I'll tell all my friends.

I wish i could go below this.! the food was pathetic and so as customer service. also the amount they charge for the food is not even justifying the quality they serve. there server didn't have proper way of treating there customers. can you imagine one of the server inspired me to write this review. I mean COME ON. and they market themselves as "best" so either they don't know what it means or customers eating have read some other dictionary. i don't even have words to describe how worst their food and services was. Totally Disappointed Recommend NOT TO GO THIS PLACE EVER EVER EVER

Relative to other Indian restaurants, the food here is good, tastes fresh. I’ve been here a handful of times and appreciate the service. It’s a nice atmosphere and it’s clean. I’ve tried many different dishes here and think they are thoughtfully prepared—decent portions, not too salty, flavorful. Also, my biriyani had a generous amount of goat in it with no bones or large chunks of fat attached as the goat has been at other places.

Heard excellent review for the hakka noodles here from a friend and drove 40 minutes from VA just for the noodles. Had chicken hakka noodles, samosa chaat and manjo-ginger refresher. Noodles were really good, almost like the indo-chinese noodles in Hyderabad. The prices were a bit high compared to other Indian restaurants in the area for a casual restaurant. Would not drive for 40 minutes next time, but will definitely stop by when passing by Gaithersburg.

Hot Breads which split into a bakery and a cafe Dosa and Chat has improved leaps and bounds! They use clean sustainable / reusable plates, glasses, forks and spoons which is awesome. The variety of food is amazing! Appetizers were great, dosas and Poorie Bhaji, Chana bhatura were all very good, dhabeli was meh. Nice casual place for an impromptu family outing. Service could be a little professional.

Came for dinner without reservations, and quickly felt that making one would have been a good idea. There’s a screen blocking part of the restaurant from the street and all I saw was a long table filled with people who appeared to be of Indian ethnicity. My pace quickened in anticipation; would there be a table available at an establishment receiving such a resounding endorsement? One of the waiters held the door open for me as I approached the entrance. Thankfully, he warmly welcomed me to one of the last two tables behind the screen. 6:00 pm and the place was packed. We ordered their non-appetizer samosas and a Dosa for appetizer. The samosa was covered in a spicy chickpea sauce that encouraged you to keep coming for more. Only downside was the temperature of the dish which was a little lukewarm. The Dosa, being the namesake, had to be good. It was. I probably had no idea how to eat it, because there was great difficulty using the 4 provided sauces. It was like a massive paper thin burrito shell filled with samosa filling. A fun party dish - expect to eat with hands. For the mains we had chicken vindaloo and chicken... the subcontinental speciality one. Both were excellent if on the salty side. Also ordered garlic naan which was very flat and rather hard - a bit disappointing. Also ordered the Pav bread, which was lightly roasted potato rolls and surprisingly more satisfying than the naan. All dishes had the option of mild or hot. Hot is about Thai pepper hot, mild is not spicy at all. Cups were metal, stainless steel maybe. Water was served in a carafe with a few spirits of mint, but the mint didn’t seem too prominent. Plates were plastic. Ceramic would really make the experience feel more refined. Some dishes tasted to salty. No knives, and maybe I’m eating some of the dishes wrong, but a few extra spoons could help. Some classics are missing such as malai kofta. This place is rather new. The service is absolutely excellent. Food was served quickly despite the massive group seated ahead of us. Waiters were prompt and attentive. I would recommend giving this place a chance and expect it to improve with time. They need to iron out a few issues and then it’s an easy five stars.

This is a fairly new place in Kentlands right next to the much older Hot Breads. I suspect the owner of Hot Breads has partitioned his restaurant (which was pretty mediocre) into two and either sold it off or given it to his kith and kin (almost everyone there was twenty something). This is a classic case of if you start off with something mediocre you will end with something below average. We went there on a Sunday evening, a prime time for restaurants. The wait staff was listlessly ambling around and for the most part ignoring the customers. We waited at the door of an almost empty restaurant for a good 5 mins. before a young man with a cap came by and negligently waved us to an empty table. We sat another 5 minutes before he came back and wordlessly dumped some menus on the table before drifting off. His facial expression was one of boredom bordering disgust and his body language of one under the influence. By this time our expectations were rock bottom and the food did not fail to disappoint us. We ordered various chaat items (Indian street food) that are served crisp and hot and tangy. Strike out all three count. The food was soggy, tepid and tasteless. The only redeeming aspect was their Indian Coffee which was close to the South Indian flavor popular in India. This is a terrible place with really bad service and lousy attitude. If you get the waiter with the cap, don’t walk, run.

I ate Gobi Manchurian (cauliflower)-- a vegetarian small bite; Egg Hakka noodles; butter chicken; chilly fish (a small bite); Ginger-mango Maharajah refresher drink. It was the bomb. I have no words. By far, out of ALL the Indian restaurants in town (cardamom; Minerva; even Rasika in DC), DOSA&CHAAT has found some way to merge disparate flavors together. THIS RESTAURANT HAS EARNED THIS BLACK WOMAN'S SEAL OF APPROVAL. Yes. This food is down home cooking, someone put their foot in it real good. If you are looking for a family style restaurant and you want your children to experience an authentic delicious experience, COME TO DOSA&CHAAT.

It was a little hard to find the place since the location on Google Maps isn't accurate, interesting setting with stainless steel cutlery surprisingly small portion specially the naan bread was not bigger than a chapati. Food itself was good staff were courteous. Fast food noisy environment overall ok for quick eat. Carry out might be a good way to enjoy the food !!

It was a little hard to find the place since the location on Google Maps isn't accurate, but we called the restaurant and they were able to guide us. This place shares a wall with the Hot Breads and is a much needed upgraded to the Hot Breads. We came here for dinner on a Saturday night and the place wasn't packed, so we were seated right away. As soon as we were seated, they brought us a carafe of mint infused water (with fresh mint leaves inside) and it was surprisingly refreshing. This place has a modern yet traditional touch (stainless steel glasses FTW). Our servers were super helpful and I really appreciated their honest opinions. We ordered a lot of items - some for the restaurant and a few to go. We ended up ordering samosa, idli sambhar, veg manchurian and fried rice, chicken kathi roll, chetni pudi masala dosa, dabeli and chicken kottu parotta. Most of the items were a hit for me. The highlight for me was the fresh sugarcane juice! It took a little while for them to bring it out, but that's understandable and worth the wait since they make it fresh right in the restaurant. This is definitely my new favorite go to place for Indian food.
